Cassidy reached out while planning their trip to St. Simons Island and wanted to document this season before welcoming their first baby. Since they were visiting the island, we designed an hour-long maternity session that would fully capture the variety St. Simons has to offer: 30 minutes at Epworth by the Sea and 30 minutes on the beach at sunset.


We began at Epworth, one of my favorite St. Simons Island locations for maternity photos because of its range. Within a short walk, you have the chapel, fountains, moss-covered oak trees, gardens, and marsh views. It gives depth and texture without needing to travel far. Cassidy chose a beautiful brown dress for this portion of the session, which paired beautifully with the historic architecture and greenery.


After photographing around the chapel, pathways, and fountains, we headed back toward their beach house so she could change into a more relaxed outfit and pick up their adorable dog, Rocky. Including him was important to them, and he clearly adores Cassidy. I am always happy for families to bring their pups if they’re part of this season, it makes the photos feel even more personal.


For the beach portion of their St. Simons Island maternity session, Cassidy went with the classic jeans and a white tee look. The shift in styling created a natural transition from formal to coastal casual. We ended on a quiet stretch of beach with a cloudy but beautiful SSI sunset.


As a mom, I understand how meaningful it is to document pregnancy. It’s a season that feels long while you’re in it, but it passes quickly looking back. My goal during maternity sessions is always to make moms feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera.


That comfort matters. The best maternity photos happen when clients feel relaxed, supported, and fully present in the moment.
